An open story—and my story

16 Jul

This coming Sunday I will return to East Doncaster Baptist Church, where I was ordained as a pastor almost 50 years ago!
I will speak about stories, as it was here that I re-discovered a love for children’s stories, which has remained with me ever since. That has developed in my theological work and love for stories, especially life stories.

So I will speak about a bible story which I call ‘an open story’, which gathers us in, and then some of what this has meant for my own story.

I will post the sermon text on this site next week.

  1. … brilliant tempt, can’t wait to read your insights into story Frank … treasure that life is an ever developing story that shifts, changes and is challenged, enriched and diminished at times …
… I am also deeply respectful of the stories of others that are shared with courage and trust with me …
… looking forward to reading your reflections …
